Senior IT Systems Administrator

Location: Bolton, Manchester

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience.

Our client We’re working with a progressive organisation based near Bolton, Greater Manchester, to recruit a Senior IT Systems Administrator who will take a hands-on role in supporting, enhancing, and developing their IT infrastructure. You’ll be joining a close-knit, collaborative team that’s passionate about doing things properly, balancing operational reliability with exciting project work and future-focused improvements.

Position Overview: This role offers the autonomy to make meaningful changes, lead technical initiatives, and be part of a culture that values continuous improvement and clear communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Keeping core infrastructure running smoothly and securely
  • Leading system upgrades, patching, deployments, and documentation
  • Enhancing disaster recovery and backup processes
  • Supporting the development of new physical sites
  • Acting as the senior escalation point for IT support issues
  • Driving innovation and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Creating technical documentation and playbooks
